Meeting Your Needs

While there are many different models of psychotherapy the most important part of any therapy is having a relationship where you feel listened to, valued and understood; and where you trust your therapist enough to talk about any feelings or issues that are causing difficulties in your life.  This is the type of relationship I hope we can develop together.  I will ask for your regular feedback on this.

My training is in Integrative Psychotherapy.  This places your needs at the centre of what we explore together in therapy and draws on differing approaches to meet those needs.  We will discuss what you hope to gain from therapy, and any anxieties you have about therapy, in the first session.  We will review what we are doing at regular intervals (generally every six sessions) so that our work together is as beneficial to you as possible.  Therapy works best with weekly meetings.  Meetings last for 50 minutes and will be arranged for the same day and time each week.  I attend regular supervision, as all therapists do, to monitor my work and client relationships, and to ensure safe and ethical practice.

Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens.”  Carl Jung
