Overcoming difficulties

Depression: Depression can generate feelings of hopelessness and being stuck. We will work together with these feelings – to help you regain your self-esteem and make positive life changes.

Anxiety and Panic: Anxiety and panic are responses to situations that we fear, and to uncertainty. We will explore the causes of this and develop ways of reducing its effect in your life.

Anger: Anger is a response to hurt, humiliation, exclusion or dis-empowerment. We will work to understand the underlying emotions and to develop healthy ways of being assertive.

Grief: Sometimes grieving becomes blocked because it seems too overwhelming, or it can revive feelings of earlier losses. Exploring these feelings in a safe space can help you to adjust to the loss.

Post-traumatic stress: Sometimes an accident or violent experience is so horrific or terrifying that we shut down all feelings to cope. We will work through memories of the trauma and the emotions it generates which will ease your distress.

Addictions: Addictive behaviors have complex origins, but are often an unhealthy way of coping with childhood hurts and lack of self-worth. We will work to understand these and to build your capacity to make healthier choices in life.
